Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon HYBRID Presents: UNSonic
Episode 1: Mobius in a Pinch? The Glittery Shooting Comets
This is the new story that I am starting, a crossover (which I almost did once, but then again it really wasn't). Let's hope it turns out as good as I'd like it to be!! :) This is anime AND manga style, so if your confused, it's okay, because I can be confuuusing!!! :)
I hope you guys like the first chapter!! - Jessica
"Is this it?"
"Yes. This is the place."
A planet looms below the light. "We must go. It is our mission."
"But why this planet? It seems odd to pick such a lowly world to search for anything."
"I sense a power here. The enemy must be after whatever is on this planet."
"Yes, I sense it too. Could it be the power of gems?"
"If it is, it gives our enemy more reason to appear here."
"Then let's go. We don't have much time."
The light flashed, then flew over the planet and disappeared. As it left, an eerie red light flashed, and laughter came from it.
----------------------------------
"Oh no!"
"Aaaaaugh!!"
Animals ran in all directions as a large robot with suction cups slammed into one of the huts. Up on top of it was a fat man wearing a strange suit.
"It's Eggman!" a fox screamed.
"Run for your life! Every man for himself!"
"Don't worry, I'll stop him!" A female rabbit cyborg with a drawl aimed her left arm up at the robot. Suddenly, missiles flew out of it and smashed into the robot. It fell onto its side.
"Great job, Bunnie!" The crowd clapped.
Suddenly, the suction cups readjusted to its side, and the robot resumed its carnage.
"Dammit!" The rabbit huffed. "I knew there was a catch."
"Why don't we just blast off the suction cups?" suggested one cat.
"Because I didn't think of that, sugar." The rabbit aimed her missiles atthe suction cups and fired. They exploded, and the robot once again fell on its side. Eggman jumped out of it.
"Ha!" The rabbit started running. "There's the fat ass! Let's get him!"
As she flew over to him, she was deflected by a force field. "Ack!"
"Ha to you!" Eggman laughed. "You think you have me in a corner? You are indefinitely wrong! I leave you with your faults, my friends, but in the meantime you can have fun with my beautiful Suctimone!" He disappeared.
The machine suddenly came back to life. Holes opened from it, and suction cups appeared all over its body. It then proceeded to roll over more of the huts, uprooting trees and cars in its path.
"Goody," muttered the rabbit as everyone ran away. "I knew there had to be a catch."
The robot suddenly turned and went after the people. They were sucked by the cups and then placed into a roboticizer.
"Oh no!" The rabbit jumped on the roboticizer and started hitting it with her robot arm. It dented but didn't break. Eggman, watching from his hovercraft high up, laughed.
"Fool!" He declared. "No one can get through the steel I've put on that, not even you're cyborg arm! Nothing can stand in my way in the countryside,"he took out a martini and started to sip it as he said it, "Not even a group of hick 'rebels'!"
Suddenly, as the robot was gathering another group of people, the suction cups flew off!
"What!" Eggman spit out his drink and stared at the monitor.
The robot made a creaky sound. A crash was heard, and a large hole appeared on its side as something crashed though it's body and came out the other side.
"No! No! NOOOOO!" Eggman clenched his fists and slammed the martini glass onto the dashboard. Glass flew everywhere. "I hate him! This can't be happening!"
The rabbit looked up to see two figures standing on top of one of the demolished buildings. "Looks like I was right this time," the shorter one said. "Taking a wrong turn was good."
"Hey! Who are you?" The rabbit was confused.
"I guess that's not important now." The taller figure spoke as the robot swooned to one side. "It's more important that Eggman knows who we are."
"Does he?"
"Heh." The taller figure turned to her and gave her a toothy grin. "If he doesn't he'll know after I finish this off."
He jumped off the building, and the rabbit saw a blue hedgehog with sneakers on. As he landed, he revved up and ran, slamming hard into the robot. The force of the slam caused it to fall again.
"This one's for the beans!" As the hedgehog flew, it balled up so that its spikes were showing, and it sliced the robot in two. The hedgehog landed, and the robot exploded. The roboticizers disappeared, and the town inhabitants were freed.
The rabbit was in awe of the situation. "That was incredible...he was faster than the wind!"
"Damn you, hedgehog!" A hologram appeared of Eggman. "You may have stopped me this time, but heaven knows you won't be next time!" The hologram disappeared.
"Uh huh, and you're not a fat ass." The hedgehog said in a mimicking voice. The townspeople snickered.
The hologram reappeared. "I heard that!" It then disappeared again.
"Heehee," the smaller figure, a fox with two tails, flew down to the hedgehog. "That was funny."
"I know." Sonic rubbed his nose. "Jesting Eggman is what I do best. Other than killing off his inferior robots, comedy gives me more enlightenment than anything else."
"Hey," the rabbit tapped him. "You never gave us your name, sugar."
"Oh...my name? Its Sonic." The hedgehog pointed to his friend. "This is Tails."
"Well, my name's Bunnie." The rabbit stuck her robot hand out.
Sonic took her hand, and they shaked. They both heard bones crunching from Sonic's hand.
"Whoops. Sorry."
"Uh...no problem." Sonic's hand was literally screaming in pain. "Say...
Where are we, anyway?"
"Oh, you're in Knothole, the unluckiest town on the planet." The whole town was demolished. "Since no one hears of us we're always being attacked by Eggman, so we have to build huts instead of real buildings. It's like that with all of the places on the Clover Forest Belt."
"Really?" Tails took out a hand held computer and put something into memory.
"Huh?" Sonic turned to him. "What's that?"
"My memos." Tails put it away. "That way, when I'm by myself, I'll know that and I'll be waiting for him if I'm ever back here!"
"Oh."
"What are you doing here, by the way?" Bunnie asked.
"Well, we took a wrong turn somewhere," Sonic explained. "We were going to the Triangle Cities because we're on vacation."
"I see." Bunnie pointed to the sky. "You won't get too far since the sun's setting. This is the only clearing in the Clover Forest, and it's pitch black here at night. You'll probably get killed if you leave, so you might as well stay here tonight. Not to mention the celebration is tonight..."
"Celebration?" Tents started going up over the place. A few cars appeared from the forest and entered the clearing. "What about?"
"Once a year, the inhabitants in the Clover Forest Belt record the Night of Stars, when shooting stars traverse the night sky. It's an incredible sight," explained Bunnie. "It's also ancient lore that if pure thoughts wish on the first bright one you see a desire will come true. An unpure thought will bring tragedy to themselves."
"Well, I guess we know someone who won't be wishing tonight."
"Hey, Sonic!" Tails' head snapped up. "That mean I can wish for-"
"Ep." Bunnie pressed her finger to his lips. "You're not supposed to say
what you wish for or it won't come true, sugar."
"Oh, sorry."
"You guys'll have to find a tent to sleep in before there's no more left. I suggest you hurry. They're over there."
As Sonic and Tails ran to the tent seller, Sonic muttered, "Shooting stars making wishes come true! What could be more ridiculous?"
-------------------------------------
That night, Sonic and Tails sat, down, dejected. "No tents," Sonic muttered.
"We could sleep in the Tornado if we had brought it," Tails said, only to get an evil eye from Sonic.
"Don't even start."
A walrus came down the hill, panting. "Hey! It's you!"
"Huh?" They both turned around.
"It's you," the purple walrus, which wore a yellow hat, panted. "The guys from the Presidential City, Sonic and Tails!"
"How did you know who we were?" asked Tails.
"I saw you once when I went down there once." He held out his hand. "My name's Rotor. Do you guys have a tent?"
"No," Sonic muttered.
"Oh! That's okay. My observatory is big enough so you guys can come and bunk.
Not to mention I get the best view of the sky from it, so this will be perfect!"
A few minutes later they stood in front of a door connected to a large tree stump. A see-through dome covered the top.
"Here we are!" Rotor opened the door.
"Wow!" Tails exclaimed. There were hundreds of gadgets and inventions. "Are you an inventor?"
"Actually, I'm the Knothole mechanic." Rotor picked up a little knife/gun/pocket protector product. "But I like making things in my spare time."
"I invent things too! That's so neat!" Tails picked up a little remote and pressed the button. Instantly a little robot woke up and hurled darts at Sonic's head.
"Deaaagh!" Sonic ducked as the darts grazed his spike and landed on the
dartboard. "Watch what you're doing, Tails!"
"Uh...sorry..."
"Oh, that's the Dart prototype. I invented it to play darts." Rotor took out another remote and pressed a button. The robot went still.
"You don't say." Sonic rubbed his head to check for injury.
"Still some design flaws - it's supposed to wait its turn. Say, the observatory is upstairs if you'd like to go."
The two went upstairs and found themselves in a astrology lab, with the dome above them. Flowers were strewn on hangers, and there were sculptures of animal anatomy on one of the tables. In a display case was a chunk of moon rock.
"Sheesh - is there something that has to do with science this guy doesn't enjoy?" Sonic saw a book on mental health on a bookcase. "I bet he doesn't know cryptology!"
"Okay, guys," Rotor came up, "We still have about five minutes or so before the shower, so there's time to get something to eat beforehand."
"Only five minutes?"
"Wow, you even know when the shooting stars will appear!"
"They're only comets," explained Rotor. "But it's a unique phenomenon that is only privy to this area, since the atmosphere warps the white light, the comets look colored. Outside of the Belt, if you ask someone about the Night of Stars, they would lock you up."
"Well, I guess it is special then, huh?" Sonic looked up through the sky.
"Yeah, especially tonight, because-" Rotor lowered his voice to a whisper, "there's also going to be a lunar eclipse."
Silence filled the room. After a minute, Sonic asked, "Now what's so special about a lunar eclipse? They happen all the time."
"Not this kind. Tonight, because it's the Night of Stars, the Ubermensch will occur."
"Ubermensch. That means superman, right?"
"In a matter of speaking. Back in ancient times people thought that the starswere actual superheroes that had ascended to the sky. So when they saw a shooting star, they thought it was a superhero coming down to save the planet. When the only lunar eclipse of the ancient times occurred the shower was so bright people thought the heroes were lighting the way so that nobody would get lost or hurt. Without the moon the shower is much brighter, and
that's why they called it Ubermensch."
"And it's happening tonight?" Sonic was surprised.
"Yup. A total eclipse."
"Hey!" Tails pointed to the sky. "Look!"
The moon started to disappear from the side.
-------------------------------------
"Are we making contact with the atmosphere?"
"Yes."
"It's close. The power. I can feel it. We must hurry."
--------------------------------------
"Wow!" The people in their tents were looking in awe.
"I didn't know this was happening. A lunar eclipse!" A bear took out a camera.
"I hope this won't obstruct the shower." A lynx crossed her arms. "It would be so irritating!"
Up in the sky, hovering above the tents, Eggman looked through binoculars.
"Heh heh," he chuckled evily. "Perfect! I knew there was going to be an Ubermensch tonight. In fact," he looked at his gauge, "The moon will be totally covered in three...two...one..."
As the moon completely disappeared, glittery shooting lights could be seen.
"There they are!"
"The Night of Stars has begun!"
"Make a wish, kids!"
At Rotor's lab, the three watched.
"Hey, Rotor?" Tails looked up to him. "You don't mind if I make a wish, do you?"
"Don't worry, I'm doing the same thing." Rotor was scanning the sky for a light.
"Okay, Tails," Sonic sighed. "Go ahead."
Tails looked out into the sky. In the distance, he saw a blue-green light.
"A comet..." Tails closed his eyes. "If I have pure thoughts I wish on that comet..."
"Well, I have my wish," Rotor looked at Sonic. "Hey, did you make a wish?"
"Well, I don't see the point in making one but I did anyway."
"I wished for-" Tails started.
"Don't tell us!" Rotor covered Tails' mouth. "It won't come true."
Suddenly, the comet Tails wished to grew brighter.
"Hey, what's happening?"
The comet flew close over the village, blinding everyone within. It barely missed Eggman's hovercraft, and the sheer wind force coming from the comet caused his ship to spin away in all directions.
"Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee!" he screeeched. "That's not supposed to happen! I've been blown away by gusts of wind!"
Down at the village, people began to panic.
"Aaaugh!"
"I can't see!"
"Woah!" Rotor could tell a wind was blowing fiercely outside, as the trees
were bent. The glass couldn't withstand the wind, and so it shattered.
"Oh my god!" Sonic's eyes got big. The comet, now a meteor, flew right in front of them outside!
"We must protect this planet."
The last caught Tails by surprise, and he looked into the light.
"Huh?" he thought. "What's going on?" He thought he saw someone inside the light, a silhouette with hair trailing behind it. As soon as he blinked, however, it disappeared, and the meteor crashed deep in the forest.
"DID YOU SEE THAT?!" Rotor was caught in whiplash. "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!"
"I saw it," Sonic felt dizzy as he talked, "but there's no need to shout in my ear."
"Wow, it's true!" Tails looked at them. "That was a superhero!"
The two older ones looked at the fox. "Yeah right, Tails," Sonic shook his head.
"But I did!" protested Tails, "A shadow with long hair! It was the superhero of the comet I wished on!"
"Tails, the ancient people only talked about superheroes because that's what they believed the comets were." Rotor gave a smile. "They didn't have the knowledge that we have today. Comets are made of ice and rock!"
"But I saw her!" Tails jumped up on a table. "I saw someone in the light, and she said 'we must protect this planet'! Honestly! I..." His face fell when he realized that his words were falling on skeptic ears.
"Never mind, Tails, you were just imagining things." Sonic turned to Rotor.
"Can you map where the meteor might have hit?"
"Oh, that's simple." Rotor took out a map, pencil and triangle. "By calculating the angle of the meteor, times the speed of the meteor, divided by the suggested radius of the meteor, times the amount of scientific error that is always applied to the equation of triangulation law, after moving the decimal place, you get..." Rotor counted on his fingers. "Nine miles southwest."
"Talk about brainpans." Sonic grabbed Rotor's hand and dashed out the door.
"Here we go!"
Tails started flying, but then heard a sound behind him. He turned around and saw nothing. "My imagination..." he thought.
After he left, two figures appeared. "The wind is changing its course drastically," one of them said. "The enemy is sending their troops down here to stop us. We must be ready."
The other nodded. "Yes. At all costs."
------------------------------------
Up in space, the red light pulsed with power. Inside, tubes holding shadowed creatures in suspension littered the main room. In the center of the room a large shadow flared. From the large shadow a red hand appeared and gave a snap. Suddenly, some of the tubes shattered as the monsters broke from their cages and disappeared. They reappeared outside the light, and as they flew towards Mobius an evil laugh was heard from the light...
------------------------------------
Sonic and Rotor reached the site seconds later. A large part of the forest was flattened so it was easy to tell where the comet had been.
"This is where the comet is supposed to be," Rotor pointed to a spot.
Sonic stopped and looked. He gave a yelp. "Holy crap!"
"What, Sonic?" Rotor looked. "Oh my god! No way that's possible..."
There was no rock to be found. The large hole where the rock should have
been was empty, save for a foot or two of water.
"But that's impossible!" Rotor scratched his head. "The comet hit here, I was right! But nobody could have come and taken the rock away so easily. It would have been to heavy."
"Yeah, and what's that smell?" Sonic sniffed. "It smells like seawater...in the middle of a forest?!"
"And why aren't we cooking right now?" Rotor was amazed by the realization.
"What do you mean?"
"The meteor came at an incredibly fast rate," Rotor explained. "When something goes very fast, it starts to burn. There should be burn marks all over the place. In fact, it's supposed to be scorching hot. We shouldn't be able to get this close!"
"Woah...heavy..."
Tails flew in. "Holy crater crash site, Sonic!"
"Huh?" Sonic looked at the fox, perplexed.
"Uh...nothing...forget it..." Tails turned red.
"This is...phenomenal!" Rotor took out a hand computer and punched in a couple of numbers. "The salt water content of this area has increased by 200 times!"
"See?! I told you!" Tails said. "That wasn't a crater, it was a superhero!"
"Taaaiiils..."Sonic looked annoyed.
"Hey there's something over in the bush...the computer's reacting wildly."
Rotor walked over to one of the bushes.
Suddenly, a large hand snapped out and grabbed Rotor's hand. He screamed.
"Oh no!"
Sonic went into a super spin and freed Rotor. The hand fell to the ground.
"Hey, are you all right?"
"That...thing..." Rotor's computer was destroyed. "A monster!"
At that, the monster flew from the bushes and landed in front of the three.
It growled.
"Ha!" Sonic went into a super spin again. He sliced through the monster, cutting it in two.
Two more monsters appeared, as if they grew from the bushes.
"These monsters seems to have created a symbiotic bond with these bushes. It usually takes eons to happen," Rotor looked nervous. "But my computer said that it took only a matter of minutes!"
"Before these things destroyed it?!" Tails was shocked.
"Time to fly!" Sonic sawed through the two monsters. This time, however, instead of splitting apart the bodies were conjoined after Sonic split through them.
"What?!" Sonic screeched to a halt. "They came back together?!"
"Sonic, look out!" Tails shouted.
One of the monsters took the opportunity to body slam Sonic before he could escape. He was thrown into a tree. The monster then took Sonic by the hands and feet before he fell to the ground and started to zap him.
"Aaaaaaauuuuggggghhh!" Sonic screamed and the energy ripped through him.
"Sonic! I can save you!" Tails started to fly but was caught by the other monster. He was electrocuted.
"Guys!!" Rotor tripped and fell. As he started to get up, the monster that had Sonic saw him and took him by the neck with his tail. He was swung up over a tree branch and was hung ten feet off the ground by the tail, which was wrapped around Rotor like a noose.
"Rotor!" Tails screamed as he was electrocuted.
Rotor gasped as he tried to loosen the tail from around his neck, but the tail kept on tightening the more he struggled.
"Damn!" Sonic got one of his feet free and kicked the monster. The monster was briefly knocked out, and his tail loosened, freeing Rotor.
"Hurry! Get out now!" Rotor jumped up and flew into the bushes. Sonic sliced through his captor, but it simply reattached itself. It threw Sonic against another tree.
"Sonic!!" The other monster was moving in on Tails.
"If only there was something I can do..." Suddenly Rotor heard a sound, but before he could confront the origin of it he was knocked out.
Out of nowhere, a huge light slammed into the clearing. Both monsters were knocked away from their prey by a strange earthquake that accompanied the light.
"Ack!" Tails fell down.
"Another meteor?!" Sonic, still woozy, looked over and saw a bright blue light.
The blue light slammed into the clearing as well, and there were loud shrieks from the monsters as the new light ripped them both apart.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey, Rotor..."
"Eh?" Rotor opened his eyes to see Sonic and Tails standing over him. He rubbed his head.
"Wow." Sonic saw the bump as well. "The monster?"
"I..." Rotor looked over in the direction where his attacker had been. "I don't know...I thought it was, but..."
"This is getting weirder and weirder by the minute." Sonic picked up Rotor's hat and handed it to him. "A meteor that doesn't exist, then monsters, now those weird lights!"
"They were really powerful...like they were some type of attack..." Tails' ears suddenly perked up. He snapped his head over to one side, on the branch of one of the trees.
There was nothing there.
"Tails?"
"Oh..." Tails turned back to Sonic and smiled. "Just looking at the trees."
"Sure." Sonic crimped a brow. "C'mon, let's get Rotor back to his lab."
The two heroes helped the walrus to his feet and out of the clearing. Before they entered the clearing of Rotor's lab, Tails turned his head slightly to look at another tree. His eyes narrowed, because he wasn't sure of what he was seeing, but there seemed to be two figures standing on a tree branch. However, as soon as he blinked they disappeared. Giving a little shrug, he and Sonic carried Rotor into the lab.
After they disappeared inside, the two figures reappeared on the branch.
"We were right," one of them said. "This planet is in grave danger from our enemy."
"It seems to be that way," the other, replied. "Unfortunately I have a feeling that the enemy also knows that we are here."
"So soon?" the first figure cocked their head to the side. "Well, let them know. The more the merrier, I guess. It's going to be a long battle either way."
With that the two figures jumped out of the tree and disappeared into the distance.
----------------------------------
Within the red light in space, a shadowy female figure talked. "Our forces landed on Moebius safely without detection," she said. "However, they destroyed our monsters before we even had the time to detect them. This is a sign that their powers have become stronger since our last confrontation."
"And this is a problem?" A wispy voice came from the darkest part of the ship, which the shadowy figure was facing. "What is it you are saying?"
"Nothing much." The shadowy figure shifted feet. "I'll just need to use a few more monsters for our next attack. It doesn't matter about their powers, anyway. There is only two of them, and the monsters are endless."
"I would rather not waste such precious energy on making a million monsters that are ineffective against the soldiers." A clenched red hand could be seen from the darker shadow. "Do what you must, but do not use so much energy next time!"
"Of course." The female figure bowed.
As she left, the planet Moebius spread out in front of the shadow through the windows. "The time will have finally come...heh heh...the fools..."
The shadow began to maniacally laugh. Outside, the red light pulsed and flashed briefly, then disappeared.
----------------------------------
Tails looked up in the sky and sighed. "What a night..."
"Hey!" Sonic appeared. "We've got to sleep. Tomorrow we're reporting the monsters to the authorities. It's going to be a long day." He then left the room.
"Okay." Tails turned back to the window.
"I know what I saw...I know my superhero crashed with his meteor in the clearing. He saved us. I'm sure of it. No matter what happens, I'll find you out and hunt you down until my last breath!"
Outside, the stars and moon shined brilliantly.
To be continued...
